Used BMW 325
The BMW 325 is a prior generation model 3 series car and, like most BMWs, each model is also available with various optional configurations as well. The primary models are the 325i 2 door coupe or 4 door sedan, the 325 Convertible, and lastly, the 325i Wagon. Now each of those models was also available with or without the BMW all wheel drive system at different points throughout their lifespan, with, of course, the associated price premium always associated with such a desirable option.
Just like the current 3 series BMW, the BMW 325 was the mainstay of the BMW product line. The 3 series has always been the entry-level model in what could be described as a near-luxury segment which offered coupe, sedan and wagon models. The 3 series is actually a descendent of the mid-60s BMW 1600, which was considered by many enthusiasts to be the first compact sedan that offered what the performance sports enthusiasts always wanted in a four door sedan – thus creating a new era, the performance sedan or sports sedan. The 3 series first came to the US in 1977 as a rather boxy and rigid shaped car. It has since evolved into the very fluid design that it is today, but its sports sedan history remains intact.
In the used marketplace, a BMW 325 is a very solid buy and you may even find them at a local auction or online auction site. Just make sure, like any car, that you do your research before pulling the trigger on a used car purchase. The good thing about the 325 model is that it was popular for several years and has recently been replaced by the 328. As a result, there are lots of 325s available on the market, since their value has been depreciated with the introduction of the 328.
There are many competitors in this class but the BMW still remains as the crème of the crop. You may want to look at an Audi A4 or Infiniti G35 for other import competitors or if you’re interested in a domestic equivalent, you should take a close look at the Cadillac CTS model. Models of the 325 will generally be better vehicles than the older 325s because of some of the changes made in 2006 (when it grew larger and included more rear-seat space and the much desired increase in trunk space).
